The Madhouse

Okay, so here's a collection of my worlds. Obviously, mine, so don't steal them. And some of them are being published, or going to be, so I won't go into too much detail.

Balthazars:

From a fic I wrote ages ago, related to a pirate story, from the same time. The founder of the line was a complete sociopath, who rose to become a crime lord. He kept track of all crime in London in the mid to late 19th century with a network of informants, and forced payment for each crime committed in or based out of London. Now his descendants do the same, all over the world, both the informants, and the Balthazars who continue to take money for crime.

The Valley:

Druidism from the time of Arthur. The Anglo or Saxon hoards were invading, and there were a few followers of the 'Old Ways' who went into hiding in a valley. It is protected by magic so old not even modern technology can find it, and they continue to practice the Old Ways in relative peace and tranquility, secret and hidden from the violence of the outside world.

Danwry:

An island just west of Ireland. They have been fairly isolated from the world by their ability to adapt defensive technology from the time of Archimedes' Claw (Ancient Greece). Their technology continues to advance, and they have remained the same type of government - like the Isle of Man - since before Roman Rule, but have a policy of non-involvement with the rest of the world. Meaning they keep out of the world's governments, and they keep others out of theirs.

Fey:

This isn't really my own world. Just that I accept the fey are there, and I've done enough research to have some of them in my fics.

Dragons:

Again, not mine, but my version is as such: Dragons can speak and take human form in most cases. This leads to half-dragons, and quarter-dragons, and so on until there is only the faintest trace of dragon in the blood, but it is still there. Then one day, if the right combination of dragon descendant genes come together, they are a 'throwback'. But nothing happens if they just age normally and die of disease or old age. If they die a violent death, their dragon DNA reacts, to protect themselves. They do die, but their body goes into a fever, fire from the dragon, and they are reborn, kind of like a phoenix. Same body shape, but the ability to change into a dragon.

I am notorious for bringing people back from the dead this way. Because if I like a character I refuse to let them be dead. Because... well, apparently I'm a 'happily ever after' type.

Which leads into my last world-point I can think of.

Walker Between Worlds:

This is an idea based in both The Valley and Danwry. A person who is born in this world but is a master of transitions between worlds, and who walks between them freely, without having to die to do so. This person can actually forge a body from elements necessary in this world, walk to the next, and grab a spirit that has recently died, or is free of a body, and bring them back. Not as a zombie. As the same person as before, just with a brand new body.
